The Chunaki Project
Chunaki is a project of sustainable ecolodges in the Amazonian region that promotes a new way of tourism: discover the authenticity of a region while respecting the surrounding wildlife.
It all started with Martin's dream : opening a true ecological hotel in order to create wellbeing in his Indigenous Community and show visitors what the wonders of the Amazon are.
He embodies what Chunaki has become, an authentic place living in harmony with the nature that surrounds it. Martin wanted to offer the best possible experience without the pretentious prices seen in other places in the region.
In collaboration with a group of talented architects, he himself designed the cabins, came up with the activities and he is the reason why this project is as alive and vibrant as everything else in the region.

The Wiseman
Born and raised in the Amazon, Martín is the pillar of Chunaki. From the initial idea, to the design and construction, and now to the management of all the operational aspects, he truly made it all possible. Finding solutions for every problem, Martín's open mind and knowledge makes him the wiseman.
Marta
The Wonder
Marta is as local as one can be. Her years of experience in hotels and restaurant makes her the best to make sure everything is in place at Chunaki. Among the many things she is excellent at, are kindness and hospitality. A true wonder of the Amazon.
Juan
The Thinker
Born in Bogota and now living in Portugal, he is at the origin of the project. He is the one that joined all the pieces for Chunaki to exist.

Based in Canada, she makes sure that Chunaki gets the online recognition that it deserves!

Operating from France, he has been involved in the project since it's inception. Now, in charge of different strategic tasks for Chunaki.

After months of work, our team finally welcomes our first travelers arriving to discover this heavenly spot in the heart of the Amazon.

Wood, leaves, light machinery... we have all that we need to start building, so let's go! Our local workers get on it!
Planning the constructions
Now that we have the perfect land, we focus on organizing the constructions, getting the final materials that we need, finding the right local contractors.
Getting the land
As the project gets defined, it becomes clear how we want Chunaki to look like and where we want it to be located. After a few months of research, we find the perfect place.
The design of the project begins
With the help of local partners and architects, the planification begins with the objective to use only local techniques and materials
